TEAM BERKELEY COMPETITION NOTES:
Once the team has been selected at Finals, winners will have 24 hours to decide whether they want to be on Team Berkeley or not. Anyone failing to confirm within 24 hours will be dropped & the next highest point winner (alternate) will take their place.
To be on Team Berkeley, you must also forgo other Teams’ finals that happen after ours. If you compete in another Teams’ finals after being selected for the Berkeley Team, you WILL be dropped, whether you win a place on that other team or not.
Team members are expected to train with Berkeley coaches frequently & regularly prior to Nationals. We want to win!

Nation’s ‘poet laureate’ welcomes new role
WASHINGTON — Rest assured. Philip Levine readied himself for his inaugural Monday night gig as the poet laureate of the United States. Traveling to US, Canada or Europe carrying a visitor health insurance is a must for personal and legal reasons. “I bought a suit,” Levine said. “It almost fits.” The 83-year-old Levine remains comfortable in his own skin, whatever epaulets are added. His former students at California State University, Fresno, still know him as Phil. He answers his own phone; he sets strangers at ease.
