Charles Ellik

CHARLESELLIKCharles Ellik has been instrumental in launching poetry slams, open mics, and spoken word events in the Bay Area and in in his native southern California. He is an accomplished writer, visual artist (in addition to his paintings, much of the graphic artwork done for the slam is his work), and slam coach. He has led slam teams from Berkeley, San Francisco, and Oakland to victory. He has toured the world with his poetry, appearing on BBC Radio and in The New York Times. He is a board member of NorCal Spoken Word and was the tournament chair of the 2003 New Word Series.

Dani Eurynome

DANIEURYNOMEDani Eurynome has worked on poetry slams since 1997, starting her volunteer work as a merch clerk at the San Francisco Slam held at the Cafe du Nord. She was a huge part of the Bay Area spoken word scene subsequently, becoming a regular co-host at The Berkeley Slam, former co-host of Second Sundays in San Francisco, and working as publicist for two of the most successful East Bay poetry shows, The Berkeley Slam and Tourettes Without Regrets (as well as The New Word Series and The Western Regional Slam). She has represented many spoken word artists as a booking agent and manager and is currently on hiatus.

Together, they have run slams in southern California, Oakland, Flagstaff, New York, San Francisco, Berkeley, and special slam and poetry events for over a decade.
